Outfit Of The Day

Hi guys
This is just a quick post as I am currently out shopping in the post Christmas sales with my lovely friend who needs to find a dress for a party we have in the new year.
I must've been sat in the Topshop changing rooms for well over half an hour now so I thought I'd do s quick outfit of the day.
I threw my outfit together in a huge rush as usual this morning but I'm fairly happy with the way it all goes together! This is the outfit in full:

Boots - Next - £65
Socks - Accessorize - £8
Leggings - H&M - £7.99
Jumper - Urban Outfitters - £40
Bag - Zara - £30
Coat - Asos - £80

This is my Zara bag - I love the mustard yellow colour of it, it really brightens up my outfits as I find I tend to usually wear dull and muted colours.

I really liked the pattern on the top of this Urban Outfitters jumper and the way the blue, white and red colour go together.

These are my socks with my boots. I often wear some big, chunky knit socks with these boots as it breaks up the black of the boots and leggings together.
These boots were from Next. What I love about them is that they are made to look worn, as showed by the photo. I got them recently and have only worn them about 3 times yet they look nice and worn in which is the way I like my boots!

I hope you enjoyed this short post for a change and let me know if you would like more outfit of the day posts?

Jewellery Favourites

Hello.
I was slightly struggling to think of a post for today as I have done a lot of reviews and tags lately so I thought to what I've done recently that I could tell you about. As I'm on study leave which is really rather boring, I've been tidying and re organising my room in the run up to Christmas and one thing I did yesterday was go through my jewellery box and I thought I'd share a few of my favourite pieces that I have.

Please bear in mind I've had a lot of these for a long while/ they've been presents so I don't know where a lot of them are from and as well as that, I do shop in high street stores a lot so these won't be expensive and fancy things! Enjoy!
What I love most about this ring is the gorgeous duck egg blue colour.
This ring is from Accessorize. Neon
is really in this season so this
ring is really on trend!

I love the colours in this statement
necklace from Next. It goes really
well with a plain dress/top.
Necklace from Urban Outfitters.

This is another neon necklace. This
one is from Boden so it was a little
pricey but as soon as I saw it I knew
I had to have it.
This ring was a present from some
lovely family friends - they
know me too well!

Ring from Accessorize.

Gold leaf detailing on the side of the ring

This was part of my Christmas present from one of my
best friends. (S for my name). Even though it is really
simple, I wear it loads!

This was supposed to be a joke
present because everyone knows how
much my Mum hates pineapples
so I was given this to scare her off
but I have grown to really love it!

I love the detail on the chain. From Accessorize.

A present from my best friend in the whole world.
From Accessorize.

This was given to me by my French Exchange partner
a few years ago. In the area she is from, everyone has these
with angels on to protect them.

Two friendship bracelets.
Left - Accessorize. Right - White Stuff

More friendship bracelets. The left one is from
Accessorize and the right one is a traditional Greek christening

bracelet from when I went to my Greek friend's
christening on the island of Andros.

These two were part of a set from Accesorize -
I love the blue and gold colours together.

These two are similar to the other blue bracelets
but these are silver and blue which I also love.

I love the simplicity of this tag necklace.

This is a necklace I got from a shop in a little Scottish
village. It doesn't seem to go with many of my clothes
so I don't often wear it but I love having it out on
display as it is so pretty!

Close up on the wing inside of the bottle.

These two were also from the same little shop in a tiny
Scottish village I can't remember! They are both quite
sophisticated and I got the heart engraved with my name
which is quite handy as now no-one will want to
steal it!

Thank you if you read all the way down to the bottom - I am aware it was a very long post! If you were wondering the camera I used to photograph the jewellery is my CanonG12. Sorry they're quite bad photos, I couldn't be bothered to get my nikon and lighting out and set up which is terrible I know but I'm sure you won't mind!

November Favourites

As we all know, December is fast approaching so it only seems right to do my November favourites!
I've been loving a lot of things this month and everything in this post I have been using for at least a few months so I can assure you they are all tried and tested.

1 - Batiste Dry Shampoo in 'Floral and Flirty Blush'.
I know how well loved Batiste is - it truly works wonders. I knew the original version was great so I thought I'd give the scented variety a try and I have fallen in love with them! So far I have only tried 'Floral and Flirty Blush' but I'm hugely excited to try all of the other smells in the range!

2 - Tangle Teezer
For pretty much the whole of my life I have battled with knotty and hard to brush hair so when I received the 'Tangle Teezer' for Christmas a few years ago I was very eager to give it a go and I can tell you how brilliantly it works! With a normal hairbrush, I am constantly in pain from brushing out the dread-lock like clumps of hair but the Tangle Teezer effortlessly brushes through the hair completely pain free! I also love the bright pink colour of mine, as well as pink you can get them in all different colours and designs. They're a total bargain at under £10 and worth every penny.

3 - Tommy Girl Fragrance by Tommy Hilfiger
I'm not usually one for perfumes but I have finally found a scent I like! It's a very hard smell to describe and I appreciate that the smell won't be for everyone but if you want a better idea of what it's like, there is a good description here. It looks a little pricey however I got mine from TK Maxx so it was a lot more affordable.

4 - Stylfile Nail File
Recently, I've been taking a lot better care of my nails and this is a nail file I would recommend within an instant. The guy who created it is called Tom Pellereau - he won The Apprentice in 2011 and it's such a clever design which makes it really easy to shape the nails well!

5 - Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish
I know this product is quite big with a lot of beauty bloggers/youtubers but it really is excellent! It is a cleansing cream you apply to your face then remove with a hot muslin cloth. I love the smell and feel of it and it always relaxes me in the evenings before bed. It has done my skin the world of good, if I have a particularly bad spot it will be much improved overnight if I use this.
I suppose you could say it is at the pricey end, my 200ml bottle was around £25 but it has lasted me for absolutely ages - a little goes a long way.

6 - John Frieda 'Go Blonder' Lightening Spray
This one will only apply to blondes, but it is a sort of peroxide spray that lightens blonde hair whilst still looking really natural. My hair goes very light blonde in the summer and I love it but it goes back quite dark in the winter so I spray this on and it lightens it. It's really cheap and looks super natural and it is just great!

7 - Free Disposable Make-Up Applicators
This one's a bit of a weird one - basically I love the free little make up applicators you can pick up from counters in boots/superdrug etc. I think most of the main counters have them, like Chanel or Clarins and Aveda always have them.
The clean mascara wands are particularly useful for removing clumps/ excess mascara without having to start the make up look again. So when you are next passing, pick some up!

8 - Bastille
Steering away from make up and beauty now,  my final pick is Bastille. You won't have had to be reading my blog for very long to know that I love, love, LOVE Bastille! I'm super excited at the moment as two of my friends and I have tickets to see them live in March. My favourite Bastille songs would probably have to be 'Of the Night', 'No Angels' and oh I could just go on for ages I love them all! If anyone knows who will be supporting them in March 2014 please let me know in the comments below...
There are still tickets available for dates this year here although you could shop around a bit because they look quite expensive and my tickets were only around £25 for standing. Make sure you go and buy their album here

Thank you for reading my November Favourites. I was thinking of doing my next post on a Christmas gift guide, so let me know if this is something you'd be interested in!

Jemma Kidd Eyeliner Review

Ooooh two posts very soon after one another! I haven't done that for a long while but I'm on a blogging roll at the moment.. Thank you all for your kind tweets about my last post, they are very much appreciated and are the reason I keep on posting. As my last review went down a storm, I thought I'd do another today.

Today's review is actually about two different eyeliners, both from Jemma Kidd. A year and a half ago or so, my best friend and I went to London for a day at the Jemma Kidd studios to learn makeup tips and get some freebies. I won it as a prize in a raffle so at first I was a bit skeptical about it as at the time I hadn't really heard much about Jemma Kidd but I did some research before I went and it turned out to be a fab day!

The first eyeliner I chose to get whilst I was at the studio; it is called 'I-conic Eyes Pencil Liner' in colour 06 supermodel. What I love most about the packaging/design of this is that the lid also doubles up as a sharpener! This is such a handy and useful feature especially for travelling as it saves you from carrying around a separate sharpener - I don't know why every brand doesn't do it!
I'll get on to the actual eyeliner now - it's actually a brown one which I usually like going for as I'm quite pale so I don't want to wash myself out. It's a really soft eyeliner meaning it goes on really easily but this also obviously means it needs sharpening all the time.. It is perfect for a more messy, maybe smoky eye look and to be honest I love it.
I wear liquid eyeliner for my day to day look but when I want to change it up a bit, this is the eyeliner I always find myself heading straight towards this one. I would be really interested to try the black (shade 08 screen siren) version!
The only drawback about it is that it doesn't have a smudger on the end, for smudging out the eyeliner which I like but luckily I have one on my other Jemma Kidd eyeliner which I shall move onto next!

So the second eyeliner I have is the 'I-Glamour Define Eyeliner' in 01 black. I got this a few months ago as a freebie in a magazine and I must say I'm a bit disappointed. I was expecting it to be more of a kohl consistency but in reality it is really hard and not at all easy to apply. When applied to the eye, after having to press extremely hard, it comes out more of a light grey colour which is really not good.
If I could find one plus, it would be that it has a little smudging thing on the other end which is really useful for when I am using my other eyeliners. Also, the two lids on either end always fall off in my makeup bag and I can never find them so on the whole I was very disappointed with this eyeliner.

One other thing to note about Jemma Kidd products is that they aren't sold in high street beauty stores like Boots or Superdrug and they don't have a website so it is really hard to get hold of them, I'm not too sure what I'm going to do when my I-conic one runs out although I think they sell them on asos fingers crossed!

I hope you enjoyed reading this review and it gave you a few ideas about Jemma Kidd eyeliners. As usual, if you have any comments and suggestions then please go ahead!

Miss Sporty So Clear Coverstick Concealer Review

Hello everybody,
I've been off for a few days revising hard - not something that I like to do at all but something that is necessary at this time of year as mocks are approaching! Luckily, my school have taken mercy on us and given us two weeks study leave which I don't think any other school in the area gets!

I've never really tried any Miss Sporty products before however when buying makeup presents for friends, I've always been drawn to this brand because as bad as it sounds it is incredibly cheap!
I was looking out for a new concealer and I've heard from everyone how good Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer is but unfortunately Superdrug were out of stock so instead I went for the Miss Sporty Coverstick.

At first, I was a little confused on the best way to apply it but after some initial trial and error I opted for just putting it on then blending with a small No7 brush. I'll start with the positives and those are that it is amazing at concealing patches of redness/ uneven skin tone. I have quite blotchy skin but I don't want to wear a heavy foundation so this is great. It is also pretty good at concealing any spots as well but I do find that I have to use a few layers as well as a powder to get a good enough coverage. Along with this, it has a nice, fresh smell and it is a bargain at only £1.99.

There are a few drawbacks; as I mentioned earlier, it isn't the heaviest of coverage so if you are looking for something heavy then this isn't for you. It is also terrible at concealing under eye bags - I put it on my bags and wonder where all the concealer has gone because it looks just the same!
Overall, I was fairly pleased with the concealer for some uses but I don't think I will be repurchasing in the future and it certainly isn't for you if you need something more heavy coverage.
At a price like £1.99, I'm left questioning 'Do you get what you pay for?'.

I have other concealers but as of yet I haven't found one I am really happy with. I think I will get the Collection concealer as all I have heard about it are rave reviews. I hope you found my review helpful and if you have any suggestions of better concealers or future posts please leave a comment below!

Beauty Would You Rather Tag

Hello guys,
I've been ill all day so I've had plenty of time to think about and compose this post. I thought it would be fun to do a tag as I haven't done one for a while!
I think Zoe Sugg and Tanya Burr did this (or something similar) in one of their videos a while ago and I really enjoyed listening to their solutions so I thought I'd give it a go!

1. Would you rather lose all your mascaras, eye liners, lipsticks and lip glosses or all your palettes and eye shadows?
For me it would definitely be palettes and eye shadows! As I'm still at school, I have to be very minimal with day to day makeup so I don't tend to wear many eye shadows at all. Also, I just couldn't live without mascara or anything on my lips...

2. Would you rather chop off all your hair or never be able to cut it again?
I've always wondered how long hair would actually grow because at the moment mine is really long but it doesn't seem to be getting any longer! However, if I never cut my hair again I don't think I could live with the split ends so I would have to go chop off all your hair. I really don't suit short hair but there's always ways around it like wigs/ hair extensions!

3. Would you rather have a coral cheek or a pink cheek?
Definitely coral, as I have a pink undertone to my skin, pink makeup often makes my skin look a little strange so I try to avoid it as much as possible.

4. If you had £1000 to spend, would you rather buy clothes or makeup?
100% clothes! Even though I love beauty products I feel like I'm fairly happy with my current collection and I wouldn't need £1000 worth of products. With clothes, I never feel like I have enough to make up enough outfits so it would be great to be able to spend that much.

5. Would you rather apply lipstick as eye liner, or eye liner as lipstick?
The only concern I have about this one is the range of colours because I certainly wouldn't want a black or brown lip colour for everyday wear so I would have to go for lipstick as eye liner as you can get black lipstick so I guess it could work if it was the right shape?!

6. Would you rather only shop at MAC or Sephora?
I don't have that many MAC products as it is so I'd go for Sephora - there's more of a range.

7. Would you rather only use one eye shadow or one lip colour for the rest of your life?
For me this is an easy one - as I said earlier I don't wear that much eyeshadow apart from really neutral shades like Naked Lunch by MAC (one of my few MAC products!) so it would be only one eyeshadow colour. I think it would be really hard to only wear one lip colour all year round as I always wear different colours in the winter and summer! Also, it would be a nightmare for fancy dress!

8. Would you rather wear Winter clothes in the Summer, or Summer clothes in the Winter?
Seeing as in Britain we never seem to get much of a summer then it would have to be Winter clothes in the Summer! It would be a bit of a nightmare if you were wearing shorts in the snow...

9. Would you rather wear dark nails or bright nails all year round?
Bright nails as they're my favourite and to be honest I wear lots of bright shades in the Winter anyway.

10. Would you rather give up your favourite lip product or your favourite eye product?
I don't really have a favourite of either but I think I would give up my lip product (maybe Topshop Ohh La La or my best friends nude lip pencil I've had my eye on!).

11. Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a pony tail or a messy bun?
I hate, hate hate having my hair up but if I could only have one then I would probably choose a ponytail.

12. Would you rather never being able to paint your nails again or never use lip gloss?
This is quite an easy one for me and I would rather not use a lip gloss because I never wear them anyway as I find them too sticky and having long hair it's a real pain when your hair gets stuck! I'm slightly obsessed with painting my nails so it would be horrible to have them bare forever!

13. Would you rather shave your eyebrows and have none at all? Or Sharpie them in everyday?
I really hate the look of drawn on eyebrows! But then again, having no eyebrows might be even worse?! I guess I would have to Sharpie them in everyday.. and never leave the house again!

14. Would you rather live without makeup or nail polish?
I did say earlier that I was obsessed with painting my nails however I could certainly sacrifice it if it meant I could use makeup. Being blonde, I have a very pale complexion as well as light eyelashes/eyebrows so I look really washed out without makeup and I definitely feel less confident with it on.

So there it is, I hope you all enjoyed reading it and I hope it inspired you to do the same tag on your own blog. If you would like, please leave a comment below and if you have any suggestions/requests for future posts then don't hesitate to ask!
